Hey Charlie? I got these for you. I… I hope you like them like I like them. -BrittanyA simple scrawled note is delicately placed under a vase full of flowers on the dresser in Charlie’s room. Brittany had spent hours the night before googling flowers and their meanings and she knew, or hoped, that because Charlie worked at a flower shop, and she’d be able to figure out what Brittany had meant. The vase is clear with orange swirls, but it’s what inside what Brittany had spent time thinking over. She had it filled with flowers that told Charlie of her beauty, red hibiscus, amaryliss, and ranunculus. But also dotted with bellflowers and asters. When Brittany couldn’t say, ‘I’m thinking of you’, she hoped these flowers could. Brittany wasn’t a rose girl, she thought it would have been too obvious and she always thought asters were prettier, so she had used them to replace the meaning of roses in the bouquet, those were too commonly used as a declaration of love. Brittany was so worried about the meaning of the flowers, that when it came to writing the note, she had panicked and gone with something simple. When she got back from avoiding the flower shop Charlie worked at, and before she ran out to spend some time at Santana’s bakery, she had placed the vase and note in her room, and left them waiting for her to find it when Charlie came home from work.

Brittany they’re—they’re gorgeous. I love them… I don’t know what to say. They’re so, so beautiful. T-the meaning of them…
Why wouldn’t I keep them around? I love them so much. I’ll keep them on my bedside table because they’re…they’re...
